Volunteering

Volunteers are always needed!  Volunteers perform many vital roles at the Center Theatre, including:

  • selling concessions
  • helping with sets and costumes
  • answering the phones
  • helping clean the theatre
  • and much, much more!

You can volunteer as much or as little as you want. Come with a buddy for one afternoon or sign up to help in the Box Office once a week.

Don’t have a lot of time, but still want to help?  Maybe you can put up posters for our events on the way home!  If you have some time, we have a job for you!  Do you think you’re too young, or too old?  We have volunteers of all ages!

Volunteering is also a great way to see a performance for free.  Sell concessions before, stay to clean up afterwards, and see the show in between!  We have several families that volunteer as a group and make the performance a family outing.

Interested in Volunteering?

Fill out a Volunteer Application today and drop it off at the Box Office or give us a call at (207) 564-8943 and we will get you set up today!

Volunteers of the Month

The Volunteer of the Month for January is Sarah Plante!

These two SOCP moms have done an amazing job pulling together events and volunteering at the theatre in their spare time. They organized and lead the Pirates Fundraiser to raise money for the kid’s shows in February. This was no small feat!

Tammy has been volunteering in the Box Office, doing backstage tech and helping with the movies since before 2009. Sarah got involved a little over a year ago and has been nonstop ever since!

Both of these ladies recently learned how to Stage Manage, while Assistant Managing The Woman in Black and in December are Assistant Stage Managers for It’s a Wonderful Life.

Thank you Sarah and Tammy! And thank you to all of our volunteers for being so wonderful
