The shows we will be auditioning for:

Treasure Island: A Musical Panto

book by Kathryn Petersen, music and lyrics by Michael Ogborn

Directed by Derrick Buschmann

Everybody say aargh! "X" marks the spot in this raucous new musical panto based on the classic by Robert Louis Stevenson. Armed with just a treasure map and her spirit of adventure, young Jamie Hawkins joins Captain Smilenot and the rest of the rabble aboard Ye Old Blowharde as they set sail for a mysterious island. Little do they know, Jamie's mother has boarded the ship as a stowaway and the ship's cook, Long John Silver, has his own questionable plans for the treasure. The crew sings, dances, staggers, and swims their way through a few of the Seven Seas in search of Billy Bones' riches.

We are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing actors 15 years and older for this rollicking fun show. While all roles are singing roles, enthusiasm trumps experience when it comes to this show.  This show will be performed OUTSIDE the first two weekends in August and we hope to conduct most of the rehearsals outdoors weather permitting.

Twain by the Tale

Based on the works Mark Twain. Written by Dennis Snee, Music by Gregg Saeger

Directed by Derrick Buschmann

In this two act revue of Mark Twain Stories, Sketches, and Monologues, the wit and timeless perceptions of America's greatest humorist are celebrated. Twain's talent for documenting the chronic and comic weaknesses of human nature is the focus of this easily stageable show.

For this production, we are looking for High School Students (students who were enrolled in high school during the 2020-2021 academic year) to form the inaugural year of the Center Theatre Thespeteen Travelling Summer Troupe. The Thespeteens will begin rehearsals in June and then take the show on the road. Performances will be on weekend afternoons between July 17th and August 12th. We anticipate 6 or more outdoor performances taking place in Greenville, Monson, Dover-Foxcroft, Milo/Brownville, and Dexter.

Given the extended nature of the schedule and the need for travel, the Center Theatre will be paying a stipend of $50 per performance to each Thespeteen involved. We will also provide food at the performances for actors and crew and if an actor is able to drive to a performance they will get reimbursed for mileage. Please note, you do not have to be able to attend each performance to be part of this production.
