You can also make a separate donation if you would prefer.

Since the start of 'flicker pictures' in the early 1900s, storyboarding is a time honored tradition in filmmaking and animation. In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of storycraft through the usage of storyboards. This is a 90 minute, 2X a week, 6 week course in the fundamentals of storyboarding. This course will be offered virtually via Google Meet with several in-person sessions with the CEO and Chief of Education of Stay aweStem Robin "Professor Robin" Kirk. Robin is a native of Abbott, Maine and is passionate about sharing her skills and experience with kids in our communities. In this after-school course, students (7th-12th Grade) will learn how to tell fiction and/or nonfiction narratives via storyboards including, but not limited to, the main storyboarding images, written narrative captions, and FX usages.

PREREQUISITES:

There are NO PREREQUISITES to this course, and students DO NOT need to know how to draw to take this course. The only requirement is a deep desire to tell a story and a willingness to learn how to make a film and/or a cartoon.
